My writerly life began when I moved to Spain.
Below is the story.

I picked up most of my Spanish from walking Sammy, the best dog in the world. While the dogs did what dogs do, the owners and I exchanged hola and buenos dias. After six months or so, I could hold my own in a basic conversation.

I decided to study two modules of basic Spanish at the Open University. I don’t know why. I completed the modules and got on with my life. One afternoon, the phone woke me from a ~~nap~~ siesta. The OU had noticed I had not enrolled for the next semester. No, thank you, I said. Was there no way she could tempt me with anything else, she asked. Absolutely not, I replied. Long story short, I graduated in 2023 with a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing.

Long story short, in 2025 I completed an MA in Creative Writing at the University of Hull. This was one of the best experiences of my life and I bang on about it a lot.

Long story shot, I am now a writer.
